Men in their Sheds - Saturday 11th September - Men's Breakfast at Colchester
Why do men love retreating into their sheds? Is this a parallel of our spiritual lives? How can we avoid getting stuck in our 'spiritual sheds' so that we build stronger relationships with our neighbours, work colleagues and others at church? This breakfast event is aimed at Christian men who want to encourage each other in their spiritual walk by taking 'time out' from their normal routine in a relaxed rural setting. 8.30am - 11.30am at Vauxhall Campsite near Colchester.
Junior Church resumes 12th September
'Exploring Issues'
Have you read “THE SHACK” by WP Young? J. John has reviewed this best selling novel saying .”This is the most heart –warming, inspirational story I have read in decades. If you only read one book in the next year read THE SHACK”. We will be discussing the fundamental issues raised in this book at our next meeting on Tuesday, September 14th at 7.30pm (at the home of Canon and Mrs. D Boyes, 13 Magdalen Drive). Do come and tell us your thoughts about the book’s unusual depiction of the Trinity, and its comments on the reason why God does not appear to act when man’s evil causes human tragedy and the nature of forgiveness.
Revival Weekend Away 17th to 19th September
Once again we are off to the Horstead Centre in Norfolk to indulge in all sorts of activities and have a great time together. You can find out what we do by looking at the report on our weekend away last year - just click here. Whether your young person went to Soul Survivor or not this is a great way for all those in cell groups to strengthen Christian friendships at this valuable weekend event. It also encourages team building and personal growth in faith.
Woodbridge young People have Talent
Just 42 are organising a ‘one night only’ variety show for all the family focussed on fun rather than fortune. The youth of Woodbridge are very talented, the local schools produce excellent bands and shows with amazing performances by gifted young people. The Riverside Theatre is booked for Friday 17th September for a Talent Night. The chance to enter and entertain the audience is open to anyone aged 6 to 19 years. Tickets cost £3.00 each whether you are a performer or in the audience cheering them along. This should provide enough money to cover costs if the Theatre is full. If anyone can display a poster in their home or workplace for this event for Just 42 please contact Malcolm Knapp. Tickets are limited so please hurry.
